Popcorn Ball

Winter Camporee

Join us at the Bellevue Rod and Gun Club Jan. 23-25 for an awesome time. There will be a Leader’s Shotgun Competition this year! Let’s have a blast in the winter! Also, save the date for the 2009 Spring Camporee: April 24-26.  The cost is $20 with all meals provided if registered by January 16^th and $20 without meals after January 16^th.

Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner

Don Blair has accepted the position of Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner.  He is a Veteran Scouter from Pack 377 and current member of Wood Badge Training team.  Don will be working with the roundtable team in improving the program for our Cub Scout Leader breakout session.  Contrary to the January February 2009 Bugle, Don Blair will NOT be organizing our District Dinner. 

Community Hours Available

The Sportsmen Assisting Nebraska's Disabled Sportsmen (SANDS) annual banquet will be held Saturday evening January 31^st.  It will be held at the PVA building at 76^th and Maple.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Randy Yates, 731-6950, cell 630-9151.

Youth Protection Training

Youth Protection Training will be held free of charge on Jan. 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1725 S. 60^th St.  This training is required for all adult leaders.  Class will take approx. 2 hours.  If you have any questions call Randy Yates, 731-6950, cell 630-9151.

Congratulations

Kent Dawson has earned his Commissioner Arrowhead Honor award.  Brett White of Troop 496 has earned his Scouters Training Award.  Packs 2, 58, and 295 have earned their 2008 Summertime Pack Award.

On-Line Advancement

The council store is going National.  That means that all advancements will have to be filed electronically beginning January 1, 2009.  Please see the council web site for on-line advancement information.

Centennial Quality Units

If your unit has met the goals for this award, please contact your unit commissioner.  They will help you complete the needed paperwork.  We are completing the paperwork for the 2008 awards now, and beginning the paperwork for the 2009 goals.

O/A News

·         Chapter Lock-in – Arrowmen, join us on January 10^th at Camp Wakonda for our annual winter lock-in.  Great food, movies, and training for election teams.  It’s all free if your dues are current!  Please let us know if you are coming so we can have enough food.  Call Randy Yates, 731-6950, cell 630-9151

·         Winter Banquet - January 17^th is our Lodge Winter Banquet.  Save that date and contact a chapter officer for more information.

·         Unit Elections - Scoutmasters, please see Chapter Chief Will Stott or Chapter Adviser Randy Yates to schedule your Troop's O/A election this winter.  Elections must take place between January 1^st and March 31^st 2009.  We have a limited number of election teams, so if you want a certain date, get it recorded as soon as possible.
