Congratulations to everyone for a great job with popcorn this year! We will recognize our stellar achievers in popcorn sales at two very special events. The Nebraska Cornhusker Experience is Jan. 3rd for those who sold $1,500 or more in popcorn, and will be held on the UNL Campus in Lincoln. This includes a facilities tour, lunch, the "Tunnel Walk" experience, and a Nebraska Basketball Game. Jan. 31st the Popcorn Ball is for all $1,000 or higher sellers, and will be held at the Amazing Pizza Machine.
Have your out of town relatives and friends order their popcorn from the www.orderpopcorn.com web site. Orders will be shipped directly to the address entered. Your unit will receive a flat 30% for all on-line orders. You can order from this site year round.
The BSA has a new adult application. This form includes a new authorization and disclosure statement. You may obtain the new Adult application from the Scouter Services, Roundtable, or on line at www.mac-bsa.org. The old forms are no longer accepted as of October 1, 2008.
A Big Thank You to Bill Stott, Dave Jacobs, Jim Benes and crew for their work at the Fall Camporee. Everyone had a good time. It was great to be camping at LSSR once again. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped staff events.
The University of Scouting will be held on November 8th Information packets are available at Roundtable, Bugle, or at the Scout office. Plan to attend this great learning opportunity. More information is available in the Bugle or on line at www.mac-bsa.org.
This training will be held in conjunction with University of Scouting on Nov. 8th. If you are interested in commissioner work, and/or a commissioner that has not taken it, or needs a refresher, please attend.
Unit commissioners will hand deliver all unit re-charter packets. If you unit commissioner has yet to contact you, please call them. Please make arrangements with your commissioner to complete as soon as possible. We would like them back before Thanksgiving. Let's do this in November so we can enjoy December.
The Council is initiating the Council Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan during 2009 re-charters. This is a mandatory plan. All who register with the Mid-America Council will be required to pay $1 for each youth
and adult registered. The payment for this new Council Accident and Sickness Insurance will be paid at the time of re-chartering. More information will be in your re-charter packet.
Join us at the Bellevue Rod and Gun Club Jan. 23-25 for an awesome time. Who will win the Shotgun Competition this year? Let's have a blast in the winter! Also, save the date for the 2009 Spring Camporee: April 24-26.
Will Stott of Troop 80 was elected Chapter Chief. Scott Locati of Troop 377 is the new Vice Chief. Nathan Steele of Troop 235 is Secretary, and A.J. Urban of Troop 42 is the new chapter Treasurer. They will hold these offices until October 2009.
Will Stott, Drew Cuva, David McBreen, and Karl Lampe all completed their Vigil Honor ceremonies the weekend of October 26th.
Your lodge needs 74 more members to pay their dues for the current year to achieve Quality Lodge status. Part of what is collected goes to our chapter, and is our primary funding. Only dues paying members are entitles to wear the lodge pocket flap. See or contact any chapter officer to see if you are current.
Unit Commissioner Jim Gray received the Den Leader award and Unit Commissioner Denny Bender will receive his Commissioner's Arrowhead Honor.
