Popcorn Ball

What a great time!  The Scouts had a BLAST at the 4th Annual Popcorn Ball on Saturday.  There were a total of 2200 people that participated in the event from across the Mid-America Council.  Jakob Larsen from Pack 13 in Soaring Eagle district will be going to Disney World with his family. 

Winter Camporee

Thank-you to Camporee Chief Bill Stott and to everyone else who helped make the Winter Camporee a huge success.

Troop 319 did an impressive opening flag ceremony before the start of the 2009 Omaha chamber of Commerce meeting at the LaVista Convention Center.  With over 1,200 civic and business leaders in attendance, they did a great job representing their Troop, our district, and our council.

Order of Arrow

Arrowmen, please don’t forget to pay your annual dues.  They jumped to $13.00 as of Feb. 1st.  Several chapter arrowmen received the Leadership in Sevice award at the lodge winter banquet.  Chapter Advisor Randy Yates was one of 4 recipients of the Founder Award.  22 chapter arrowmen attended the Chapter Lock-In on January 10th.  Arrowmen provided service at the 3rd annual SANDS banquet January 31st.

There is a Lodge Leadership Development Training class for all arrowmen scheduled for Sunday Feb. 22nd.

District Recognition

Our district was recognized at the last Leadership Summit for the following in 2008:

·   Achieving the Quality District Award.

2010 Anniversary

Jeff White is our district chairman for our 100th Anniversary of Scouting.  He will also be representing our district on the council level.
