Have your out of town relatives and friends order their popcorn from the www.ordermacpopcorn.com web site. Orders will be shipped directly to the address entered. Your unit will receive a flat 30% for all on-line orders.
The Council is initiating the Council Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan during 2009 recharters. This is a mandatory plan. All who register with the Mid-America Council will be required to pay $1.00 for each youth and adult registered. The payment for this new Council Accident and Sickness Insurance will be paid at the time of re-chartering. More information will be in your recharter packet.
Capt. Dan Henderson, USAF, has joined our District Committee and will soon be leading one of our many committees.
The BSA has a new adult application. This form includes a new authorization and disclosure statement. You may obtain the new Adult application from the Scouter Services, Roundtable or on line at www.mac-bsa.org. The old forms will not be accepted as of October 1, 2008.
Join us at LSSR October 10-12 for our Fall Camporee. This is a dual event with Ohwahnasee District. There will be a day Camporee and a night Camporee and you will receive two patches. Space is limited to 600 - youth and adults. The cost is $15.00 per person. Webelos and adult partner are only $12.00 for the pair.
The University of Scouting will be held on November 8th Information packets are available at Roundtable, bugle or at the Scout office. Plan to attend this great learning opportunity. More information is available in the Bugle or on line at www.mac-bsa.org.

Congratulations to Bob Foley and Joe James. They will be recognized with this national award for service to youth.
Scout day at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo is October 18th. Long lines frustrated many last year and Lewis and Clark Commissioners are asked to help with registration this year.
Every unit will be responsible for re-chartering on-line via the internet. You still have to turn in the paper forms with the Unit Leader and Institutional Head signatures, but the process will greatly reduce errors and processing time. Recharter packets will be handed out at the October roundtable. Don't wait till the last minute to get your signatures.
Youth members from Troops 319 and Troop 377 presented the flags during this musical staged at the Scottish Rite Theater in September. Half of the proceeds went to the Little Sioux Scout Ranch rebuilding efforts. A big thank you to all as this turned into a very big production.
Our O/A chapter helped out at some key activities the recent Section Conclave held at Camp Cedars. Borrowing off of a James Bond theme, it was quite an event and delivered the promise to all new arrowmen in that O/A is not just an ordeal, it's FUN!
